Desperate Filipino commuters have already attempted to have themselves “delivered” home via the Lalamove app. The app now officially supports ride-hailing services. In a statement issued on Monday, February 10, Lalamove stated that it hopes to have approximately 15,000 drivers on its platform by June, however commuters can already schedule a Lalamove transport home. The startup claims to offer lower fares when compared to other ride-hailing platforms. Despite having “a lot of competition” right now, Lalamove underlined the desire for ride-hailing services and even mentioned how users used to try to go home using their delivery app. Lalamove users can select between a “Car,” which is for four-seaters, and a “CarXL,” which is for six-seaters such as SUVs.
Partner Driver Possibilities
Registered Lalamove partner drivers can take both delivery orders and ride reservations. Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove, stated, “They can maximize their revenue by arranging rides during peak hours and accepting delivery orders during off-peak hours. And, as with delivery, our partner drivers are free to choose the orders they want, which aligns with our mission of democratizing on-demand delivery and, this time, ride-hailing.”
Applicants Must Supply Important Papers
Lalamove will be stringent with onboarding partner drivers, and they must produce the following documents:
- Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or Provisional Authority from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
- Professional driver’s license.
- NBI/Barangay/Police clearance.
- Passenger Accident Insurance
- Vehicle photos
Meanwhile, people who purchased their car second hand must provide a Deed of Sale. If drivers are renting cars, they must obtain a letter of consent from the vehicle owner. Furthermore, the service is currently available in Greater Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Cebu.
Here Are Some Aspects Of The Lalamove Ride:
- Lalamove tracking is in real time by sharing your GPS location so you can check the status of your booking.
- A 24/7 in-app chat capability allows drivers and passengers to communicate seamlessly.
- Chubb provides accident insurance for drivers and passengers.
- SOS emergency button connects passengers with authorities.
- Students, those with impairments, and older citizens will receive 20% government-mandated discounts, according to the LTFRB’s memorandum.
- There is a stringent partner driver registration procedure.
“Our current goal is to develop a huge pool of partner drivers so that we can service more customers in the Philippines. And to make it more rewarding for partner drivers, we’re starting with a 2% commission rate, allowing them to keep 98% of their earnings in addition to Panalomove partner driver incentives,” Nacario explained.
Booking a Lalamove Ride And Finding Out How Much It Costs
Like other market players, Lalamove Ride does not require customers to download a new app; instead, they may book rides directly through Lalamove’s existing platform. Currently, the function gives two vehicle options: Car is a four-seater sedan, and Car XL is a six-seater SUV/MPV. With regards to Lalamove rates, several factors influence fares, including “traffic situation, order volume, availability of driver partners, applicable tolls, and so on”. So don’t be shocked if the price you see while booking changes based on these criteria.
