For several months now, there have been rumors that Samsung is working on a fourth model for the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung may not unveil it alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra on January 22nd.
With the exception of foldables, this phone—now known as the Galaxy S25 Slim—will be among the thinnest flagships that Samsung has produced in a long time when it does release.
The Name Suggests a Slim Design
In contrast to the other members of the S25 family, no pictures of the S25 Slim have surfaced. All we know is that it will have a somewhat different design from the others. According to rumors, Samsung will base the design of the S26 series for the upcoming year on the S25 Slim.
We do know, though, that it will be extremely thin, with a thickness of just 6.5 mm. Considering that most phones these days have a chassis that is between 8 and 9 mm thin, that is an impressively slim phone.
High-end Hardware
We expect the Galaxy S25 Slim to feature high-end hardware. The flagship device from Samsung should cost around the same as the Ultra.
According to rumors, the display will be 6.66″ diagonally, like the S25+, and it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Tipsters believe a cell should have a capacity of 4,700–5,000 mAh, despite the divided opinions on battery capacity. At first glance, it might not seem like much, but bear in mind the thin 6.5-millimeter profile.
Onboard “Ultra” Cameras
The S25 Slim is anticipated to have a “Ultra” camera system, meaning it will use a more sophisticated version of the S25 Ultra’s camera hardware, despite its small size. Fortunately, we don’t have to guess because we have some leaked comprehensive specs of the camera system.
The primary 200MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor, which is 1/1.56″ in size but may also be 1/1.3″ like the HP2, will probably be taken from the Ultra. Remember, we haven’t revealed the HP5 yet.
The telephoto and ultrawide modules will use Samsung’s 50MP JN5 1/2.76″ sensor. The optical zoom on the telephoto camera will be 3.5x. However, the S25 Slim will not include the second telephoto camera.
The 3.5x telephoto camera reportedly uses Samsung’s All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) concept. One benefit of the new technology is its ability to fit into a smaller area ideal for the Slim Samsung S25.
Cost and Accessibility
We don’t know the exact cost, but we anticipate it to be more expensive than the Plus and less expensive than the Ultra. According to available data, the S25 Slim won’t be accessible until the second quarter of this year. Despite its introduction at this month’s Samsung Unpacked event, it will take some time before you can purchase one.
Samsung’s next flagship handset is not as close to release as the other three phones in the series, as seen by its ability to keep it under wraps.
