NagaTech, a Local Brand in the Philippines who Locally Assembled Laptops

laptop brands

NagaTech is a newly established electronic laptop brand in the Philippines that assembles laptops locally. The company derived its name, Naga, from Philippine mythology, which depicts a moon-eating sea serpent, as a way to remain deeply rooted in the country’s cultural heritage. They chose to name their company Naga because their ancestors are from this province in the Bicol Region. Taiwanese parts import and fabrication are the company’s short-term and beginning goals. They import the parts and assemble them here in the Philippines, which is why they proudly proclaim, “Assemble the product locally.”

The First Laptop from NagaTech

NagaTech Sipag represents the company’s initial model brand. Thus, NagaTech uses a technique known as white-labeling, where they purchase pre-made machines from TongFang, place their logo on the lid, and then install the OS, SSD, and RAM. For the final three components, NagaTech takes pride in assembling its computers in the Philippines. They also work on a gaming laptop called Ahas.

It has Intel ARC graphics and an Intel Core Ultra 5 CPU. We have not yet revealed the type of panel powering the 14-inch Quad HD+ display, which operates at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has 512GB of SSD storage and 16GB of RAM for configuration, with the ability to upgrade to 32GB and 2TB, respectively.

The laptop boasts an 80Wh battery, capable of charging with 100W Power Delivery. The laptop has a plastic bottom, a metal top lid, a palm rest, and a backlit keyboard. Hence, you can unscrew and swap out components, including the Wi-Fi card, speakers, batteries, fans, storage, and RAM, according to NagaTech.

The firm claims that it locally assembled this laptop in the nation using Taiwan-fabricated and imported parts. Additionally, the company has revealed an early render of a laptop with a black color scheme, suggesting that it plans to launch a gaming line.

Where Do They Source Their Laptop’s Body Parts?

Thus, the primary concern is where NagaTech sources its components for the local assembly of the laptop. NagaTech responded by stating that TongFang manufactures the SIPAG as an OEM. According to what we’ve read on Reddit, the company is well-known for producing high-quality laptops.

According to NagaTech, they plan to offer both a Ryzen model for the AHAS and a Ryzen variant for the SIPAG, the latter of which uses a Core Ultra 5 125H. In addition to what we already know about the SIPAG’s specifications, NagaTech notes that it supports external GPUs thanks to Thunderbolt 4.

Once they establish themselves as well-known laptop brands in the Philippine IT market, they plan to expand their distribution channels to include physical storefronts.
