The service is also available to paying Gemini Advanced customers. These users still get a 1M token context window. They can also upload up to 1,500 pages of files.

Google Gemini 2.0 flash is already the default model for new chats. However, Google said that 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro will remain available in existing chats for the next few weeks.
Gemini Deep Research Comes to Android

To use the AI agent, select “1.5 Pro with Deep Research” from the app’s drop-down menu.
How Gemini Deep Research Works
Deep Research lets you ask questions about a topic you want to understand better. The AI agent then creates a research plan with several steps.
You can review the plan before the research starts. You can then approve or reject it.
After you approve the plan, Gemini starts a short online research session. The process is similar to how people research topics on the web.
For example, Gemini can search the web and review the information it finds. It can then create new searches based on those results. The process continues until Gemini gathers enough information to answer your question.
The system then uses these findings to create a detailed report. The report also includes links to the original sources.
You can ask follow-up questions to improve the report. Once you are happy with the results, you can export the report to Google Docs.
